Kaizer Chiefs were drawn to face Magic FC in a Nedbank Cup Last 16 fixture. The draw was conducted on Thursday night at the MultiChoice studios in Randburg, Johannesburg.

You can’t decide in a draw who you want to play,” commented Hendrick Ekstein, who was present at the draw. “However, we welcome the outcome. We will prepare accordingly to try to advance to the quarterfinals.”

Amakhosi will travel to Cape Town on the weekend of 16 to 19 February. The PSL will announce the details of the logistics in due course.

Chiefs advanced to the Last 16 via a hard-fought extra time win over ABC Motsepe Leagueside, Tornado FC.

Magic FC is based in the Western Cape and play in the SAFA second division.

Magic advanced to the Last 16 by beating first division side Maccabi FC on penalties.

Ekstein sees the Nedbank Cup as an opportunity to lift silverware. “I wish to assist the team to win a trophy. We will respect every opponent we meet along the way, and Magic will not be treated any differently. We look forward to the match.”
