“We welcome the draw,” said Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala. “No team is big or small in football. Stellenbosch are a good team and we are looking forward to play them.”

Kaizer Chiefs were drawn to visit NFD side Stellenbosch FC in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup. The draw was held on Thursday night at Nedbank’s headquarters in Sandton.

“We are aware of Stellenbosch’s position in the first division,” added Tshabalala. “For us to progress to the Last 16, we have to be well prepared to beat them.”

Stellenbosch are formerly known as Vasco da Gama. They are presently in sixth position on the first division log. They are currently coached by Sammy Troughton and Steve Barker, who have both coached in the PSL.

The club plays their home games usually at the Coetzenberg Stadium, a multi-sports venue in Stellenbosch.

The PSL will release information pertaining to match logistics and ticketing.
