After the first FIFA International break of the 2021-22 season, Kaizer Chiefs will once again travel to Pretoria to face Mamelodi Sundowns for the second time this season. The two teams first met in the MTN8 last month in the first game of the season. The match ended 2-2 and was decided on a penalty shootout.

The teams meet this time in the DStv Premiership with the view of collecting three points.

Chiefs won their last game 2-1 against Baroka and Sundowns drew 1-1 against Golden Arrows.

After making his debut as substitute in the second half of Amakhosi’s last league game against Bakgaga, defender Austin Dube will get his maiden start for Chiefs this afternoon. He replaces Bernard Parker in the line up.

Dube is the only change when compared to the last game and it means there will be a slight change in the formation as the team will play 4-3-2-1.

Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma will start his third game in a row for Chiefs this season. On the bench Amakhosi will have Daniel Akpeyi.

The four defenders will be Dube, Daniel Cardoso and Mulomowandau Mathoho, with Sifiso Hlanti on the left.

Cole Alexander, Njabulo Blom and Phathutshedzo Nange are in midfield. They will be supported by Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly on the left and right wing, respectively.

Samir Nurković will lead the attack.

Notably, Lebogang Manyama returns to the team but will sit on the bench after a lengthy injury.

This afternoon’s captain is Mathoho.

The match’s referee is Luxolo Badi. He will be assisted by Elphas Sitole and Lalelani Mngadi. The fourth official is Victor Gomez.

Amakhosi’s DStv Premiership second away match of the season against Masandawana will kick off at 17:00 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane. No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be shown live on SABC 1, SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and carried by various SABC Radio stations, with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
