As the Amakhosi squad concluded their preparation for the Club’s final home fixture of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season against Polokwane City at FNB stadium on Saturday, Coach Cavin Johnson tells www.kaizerchiefs.com that they are determined to give their fans an enjoyable end to the campaign:
On the team’s readiness for the match:
We have had a good training session in our final preparation ahead of the match. The mood is positive among the players and the aim is to end the season strongly, first by putting on a show for our supporters against Polokwane City. We still have few injured players who are unavailable, but we have Given (Msimango) back in contention for selection.
Assessment of Polokwane City:
From what we have seen recently, their key central midfielder, Kambala, is out but they have Cole Alexander, an ex-Kaizer Chiefs player, and other quality players like Matuludi, the attacking right-back, and Oswin Appollis is a dangerous player. He has been called up to the national squad and is someone we will have to keep an eye on.
They are solid and competitive so we know we will have to be on our game to beat them, and that’s what we are focusing on doing.
Message to the Amakhosi Faithful:
As it is our last home game of the season it would mean so much to the players to see a big turnout of support for them. We want to give them a good performance with a positive result to celebrate for the month and a half until we return for next season.
The match kicks off at 15:00.
