“I was driven to enter the competition by the love for Chiefs,” said Tsietsi Benny Majoro after he was selected to lead Kaizer Chiefs from the dugout on Saturday in the Carling Black Label Cup. “I feel great that I emerged victorious and looking forward to inspiring the team to a win the game against Pirates.”

Majoro was selected from many entrants who were cut down to fourteen finalists. The finalists were put through a gruelling workshop session to test their football knowledge. The workshop under the guidance of football experts took place at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 20 July. Among others the Champion Coach was tested on the knowledge of football to conducting interviews which forms a critical component in sports.  

Majoro hails from Kutlwanong, Odendaalsrus in the Free State. “I entered the competition through Lesedi FM,” he revealed. “Through this experience I hope to come out as a better person, motivated that nothing is impossible.”

The Champion Coach was revealed live on SABC 1’s Soccerzone TV show on Monday night.

Majoro joined the team through the final preparations for the much-anticipated Carling Black Label Cup match. “My message to the players will be very clear,” warned Majoro. “Kaizer Chiefs players have always known to carry the badge with pride whenever they step on the pitch.”

“The Soweto Derby is an epic sporting event. We have to put up a good showing on Saturday. On and off the field, let's all be one and unite behind the team on Saturday,” he concluded

The stage is set at the iconic FNB Stadium for 15:00 on Saturday, 27 July for the titanic clash between the two Soweto arch-rivals.
