“They are close to us on the log table,” comments Teenage Hadebe on Saturday’s Absa Premiership fixture against Polokwane City. “That’s why it’s important to beat them.”

Kaizer Chiefs are in 7th position on the log standings, with 28 points from 20 matches, while City are one place lower (28 points from 19 games).

Amakhosi beat Magic FC last week in a Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash. The last two league encounters ended in a 1-all draw (Orlando Pirates) and a 1-0 loss (Cape Town City).

“We have been playing well,” continues the Zimbabwean defender, “especially in the matches against Pirates and City. We just need to convert our chances and need a bit of luck as well.”

Chiefs were edged 1-0 by City in a game that was played behind closed doors at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 6 October 2018.

Hadebe feels that Polokwane City are a good side with a fighting spirit. “We will give it our all though, as we are definitely eyeing the three points.”

The match between Amakhosi and Rise and Shine will take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 23 February (kick-off is at 15:30).
