Zwane Makes 2 Changes in the Team to Face Arrows

The match that was scheduled to take place in December between Lamontville Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs will now be played this afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban. This follows the SAFA arbitration process that ruled that the game should be rescheduled and played after the massive Covid-19 outbreak hit Kaizer Chiefs in December 2021.

Amakhosi will look at making amends this afternoon after losing the game against Stellenbosh 1-0 on Saturday in Stellenbosch.

Arrows who drew their last game one-all against Sekhukhune FC on Saturday will also try and move up the log table and get into the top 8 bracket with this match.

Amakhosi faithful in KZN will get a chance to witness a Chiefs game before the season ends after the stadiums were reopened in the last three weeks.

On the log Chiefs are in 4th position with 39 points from 24 matches played. Arrows occupy the 9th spot with 32 points in the bag after 25 matches.

Chiefs will be happy to welcome Bernard Parker back after he missed the last game against Stellenbosch FC through suspension, but he will start from the bench.

With not much time to prepare the team between the two games, coach Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard have made two changes to the starting line up. The changes will see Reeve Frosler replace Happy Mashiane on the left of the pitch and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will come on for Sabelo Radebe in midfield.

Chiefs will adopt a 3-4-3 formation in this match.

The goalkeeper is Brandon Petersen

Chiefs will defend with three centre-backs – Njabulo Ngcobo, Ramahlwe Mphalehlele and Siyabonga Ngezana.

In midfield Amakhosi will have Frosler as a left wing-back,  Cole Alexander and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo in the middle and Njabulo Blom will be on the right.

The attacking trio is unchanged with Khama Billiat on the left, Keagan Dolly on the right and Leonardo Castro leading the attack.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele is the captain.

The match officials are referee Thando Ndzandzeka, assisted by Sipho Mahlangu and Thembinkosi Mangai. The fourth official is Lalelani Mngadi.

The match between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and Abafana Besthende kicks off at 15:00 at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu. This will be the third game Amakhosi play with supporters in the stadium since March 2020 and the first outside of Johannesburg.

For those who are at home, the match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv, with live commentary on various SABC radio stations. The Club will also provide regular updates of the action on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
