The Supa Eight soccer tournament pits the team, which has won the Premier Soccer League title, and the seven other teams that played and finished in the top eight positions on the table for the 2002/03 season.
Last week, SAA unveiled its new Supa Eight logo, re-affirming the airline's five-year sponsorship for the soccer tournament.
This logo symbolises an association between the SAA brand and the Supa Eight soccer tournament.
In formulating the logo, SAA's corporate identity was revisited, resulting into the design of an energetic sporting symbol. The name South African Airways is also abbreviated to ensure that it is simplified, appealing and user friendly.
Also unveiled at the event, was the trophy for the tournament, which is a symbolic depiction of SAA as a global airline that supports the biggest sporting event in the world, soccer.
The trophy, a globe with an SAA engraved across, confirms the airline as a global player, which supports the world's most popular sport, soccer.
