AMAKHOSAZANA LOOK TO END MAIDEN SEASON ON A HIGH

Kaizer Chiefs Ladies are determined to finish their maiden season on a high when they welcome the University of Johannesburg (UJ) to the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Saturday, 17 October. Kick-off is at 11:00.

There is still a possibility of a playoff place for Amakhosazana. A win against UJ, coupled with a defeat for Wits, would see them through. However, whatever the outcome, the team has plenty to be proud of after an encouraging first season in the Gauteng Provincial Women’s League.

The Glamour Girls have shown remarkable resilience, going unbeaten in their last 17 matches since their defeat to Blue Birds in June, winning all but one, a draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, during that run. They will now look to carry that form into their final fixture and give their supporters another performance to remember.

Speaking to www.kaizerchiefs.com, midfielder Nkamogeleng Tshoke, who has been an important figure in the team this season, believes the players are well prepared for the challenge. “We are at a stage where we can approach a game with confidence, knowing what we want to achieve and what is required of us. We have set our objectives for this fixture, and we believe we can achieve them if we apply ourselves,” she says.

Having beaten UJ away from home in the first round, Tshoke is keen to see the team take charge on home turf, adding, “We know what it takes to beat UJ, having done so in the first round. Now we need to take control of the return fixture at the Village and give our supporters something to celebrate.”

Her midfield partner, Lerato Makhanya, puts the team's progress down to the commitment shown by the players throughout the campaign. “It has not always been easy but we have remained committed to what we wanted to achieve as a team. Every player has contributed in some way, and it is important that we recognise the effort and dedication that have brought us this far,” Makhanya says.

Saturday's encounter promises to be an exciting occasion, with Amakhosazana eager to finish their campaign in front of the supporters who have backed them throughout their journey. For the players, it is an opportunity to celebrate how far they have come while giving everything for one final result.
