Kaizer Chiefs take the short trip north to Pretoria on Wednesday evening for their fourth-last game of the season, a blockbuster encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld stadium.

Often regarded as the second-biggest fixture in the league after the Soweto Derby, this clash is expected to draw the same capacity crowd as it has done for the past number of seasons. The first-round meeting between Amakhosi and the Brazilians at FNB stadium back in August was sold out, with over 75 000 fans in attendance, and ended in a 0-0 draw after the final whistle.

Heading into Wednesday’s match, Chiefs occupy third position on the log with 47 points from 26 games, while Sundowns lead the standings with 64 points from 27 matches after beating Polokwane City 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Tickets for the tantalising encounter are available online at www.opentickets.co.za or in person at Shoprite and Checkers outlets, priced at R60 each.

The Betway Premiership showdown between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and Bafana ba Style kicks off at 19:30 on Wednesday at Loftus Versfeld in the nation’s capital.

Supporters of both teams are urged to arrive early at the venue with their tickets to avoid congestion at the gates and delays.
