Amakhosi reserves came away from their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves with a disappointing 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

The result leaves the defending champions in fourth place on 46 points with one match of the national U23 league season left to play, which will be at home to Chippa United this Saturday, 9 May at Dobsonville stadium, kicking off at 10:00.

In the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), the youth development academy teams, with the exception of the U17 cohort whose rounds were postponed due to many of the Chiefs players being called up to a national squad training camp, had a double header over the long weekend.

On Friday, they faced the Africa School of Excellence at the Village, where the U14s won 4-1 in the opening game. The U15s unfortunately succumbed 2-1 to their counterparts, while the U19s restored the Gold & Black pride with a 5-0 win to close out the day.

Then, on Sunday, they travelled to Tshwane University to face Siwelele where the U14s again made a good start to the day with a 1-0 victory. The U15s responded to Friday’s setback in the best way possible, with a 4-0 triumph and the U19s finished the day with a credible 1-1 draw.

Makhosi’s next round of GDL fixtures is away to RESA on Sunday, 10 May at President Park stadium, kicking off at 09:00.
