Kaizer Chiefs reserves came from two goals down to defeat Mamelodi Sundowns 4-2 in an exhilarating DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) encounter at Dobsonville stadium on Sunday.
After a slowish start, Amakhosi found themselves 2-0 behind at halftime but roared back in the second period, scoring four unanswered goals through Benjamin Eliyahu, Samkelo Msimango, Neo Bohloko and Kamogelo Malefo in a scintillating display of flowing football.
The team achieved this remarkable result despite numerous changes to the squad and the line-up, following the inclusion of several players who featured in the side that won the Engen U18 Champ of Champs tournament in Pretoria on Sunday.
The win maintains Chiefs perfect start to the 2026/27 DDC season following their 3-2 victory over Orlando Pirates reserve on the opening day. They currently sit joint top of the fledgling league table with six points from their two fixtures and will feel confident of making it three in a row when they face Richards Bay away from home this coming Saturday, 10 October.
